Description
Key Features of the HQ-550(ZK) Die-Sinking EDM Machine
1. Construction and Work Area
The machine features a rigid design with a moving worktable and modular construction, enhancing structural rigidity and simplifying maintenance. The worktable measures 800 × 500 mm and is positioned inside a tank with internal dimensions of 1300 × 770 × 550 mm, allowing convenient placement of large workpieces.
2. Axis Travel
Travel ranges are 550 mm along the X-axis, 450 mm along the Y-axis, and 250 mm along the Z-axis. The ram provides an additional vertical stroke of 300 mm, with an electrode-to-table distance of up to 820 mm, enabling machining of tall components.
3. High-Power Pulse Generator
Equipped with a digital pulse generator (model HQ-75C) delivering a maximum discharge current of 75 A. The machine achieves a material removal rate of up to 500 mm³/min while maintaining an exceptionally low electrode wear ratio of just 0.1%, reducing tooling costs.
4. ZNC Control System
Control is handled via a Z-axis Numeric Control (ZNC) system with a 15-inch color display. The system provides automatic gap control along the Z-axis, continuously maintaining the preset spark gap between electrode and workpiece during machining.
5. High Processing Accuracy
Capable of producing surfaces with a roughness as fine as 0.8 µm Ra, allowing precision finishing of critical features without requiring additional mechanical polishing.
6. Capacity for Large Workpieces
Maximum workpiece weight is 1000 kg, with electrode weight capacity up to 100 kg. These specifications make the machine suitable for manufacturing large molds, dies, and other heavy tooling components.
7. Energy Efficiency and Reliability
Powered by standard industrial three-phase supply (380 V / 50 Hz). The machine weighs 2500 kg with overall dimensions of 4000 × 2500 × 2600 mm, ensuring excellent stability and minimal vibration during operation.
8. Application Scope
Designed for die-sinking and drilling EDM operations on hardened steels, titanium alloys, and cemented carbides. Widely used in the production of injection molds, die-casting molds, stamping dies, and precision components for aerospace, defense, and toolmaking industries.
